Irrelevant of how people contracted this disease, we need to accept that it could happen to anyone. We need to alter our mind set, treat this disease like any other and allow people to feel free to be tested. Free to talk about being HIV positive, and free to take the steps to safeguard others.
The stigma attached to HIV Aids, has forced people to hide their status and as a result, it has spread uncontrollably. Ignorance can be extremely dangerous and while we force people to hide their status, they will remain ignorant to the facts.
Education is available, treatment is available, but until we reach out to those suffering with this disease, we will never stop the spread of HIV/Aids.
Let’s get rid of the stigma and treat this disease as we do every other disease and help those unfortunate sufferers.
